Check your Big 5 sporting goods. I got mine on sale about 3 or 4 years back for $279 on sale. The Big 5 1894c don't have checkering or real fancy wood - but the price is right. I just love mine and will never sell it as it's super-cheap to reload .38 special and plink with.

I mounted a Williams peep-sight in the rear and am using the Lymann globe up front and it works great for aging eyes..

On the other hand, if the rifle you're looking at is in nice shape and you'd be happy with it, I think $350 is not that bad and you might even be able to talk it down to $330?
