Actually, I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but neither the FTX bullet, nor the LE powder, alone, accounts for the noteworthy increase in performance from rounds like the 35 Remington and 30/30 Winchester. When they are used in combination, with a higher MV and a higher BC, that is when you see additional point-blank range that is worth mentioning.

Don't believe me? Plug the numbers into a decent ballistics program and you'll find, for ranges of ~225 or less, the higher BC of the FTX bullet doesn't make all that much difference. Neither does the additional MV you actually DO GET from the LE powder. However, when you put those two together, you get a boost in performance that has a lot of guy paying attention. I believe the word is "synergy".
