Hi,
I buyed another Winchester 94 but i don' t identified it.
It's scroll engraved , color case hardened, sadlle ring, on the top tang there is : winchester model 1894. 30/30 caliber top eject. It's made in america the sérial number is 4.8xx.xxx. I don't found this model on internet logically she must be 1978-79 and be like the model antique.
Is that a special model ?
Thanks!!

Hey Chris Try this site www.savage99.com/winchester1894_dates.htm
it tells you the year of your '94 by S#
Chris,
It sounds like the "Classic" model, a special issue. Give us more of the serial number to help narrow down production (all but the last two or three digits), with what you gave, it could be '79, '80, '81. The on line production dating web sites are not all that accurate within certain time frames.

Chris,
According to "The Winchester Book" it's a 1979.

Hello, found this forum thru Google and just signed up.
I, too, just purchased a used Winchester 94 and am trying
to become more informed about it.
I checked the serial number web site, but it doesn't accept
numbers past a certain point. Mine starts with 5291xxx.
Any ideas on what year this was made?
Also, from looking at pictures online of other 94's, thay all
seem to show the rifle barrel to be the same length as the
magazine tube. My magazine tube is about 1 3/4" shorter
than the barrel. What's up with that? Is it just a different
model? What model might it be?
Thanks in advance!
