If you can find one under $350 in decent shape you're doing pretty good. Here's a few:

Aside from the last one that was drilled , could you elaborate on what was messed with on the others, with the price range, the sling swivels aren't that big a factor if your lookin for a shooter grade gun(?).

The top pre-64 has sling swivel studs installed, no big deal if you're not looking for an original, as you said.

The second pre-64 appears correct except for the 2" tight crack.

Third pre-64 has sling swivels and recoil pad added.

Flatband was drilled, refinished stocks and sling swivel studs added.

When you get much below three hundred this is about what you'll see, far from museum quality for sure.

Museum quality, no you're right. Original with honest wear, yeah ya can.

I lucked out on a 1952 .32 special for $270.00 plus change and it was dern neer 90% and all original, so I'm with ya it can be done ,but I won't be holding my breath until the next one. In fairness though I just happened to be standing in the shop as the clerk and the fella selling it to them ( both who were easily born 30 years after this one was made ) were coming to an agreement as to what an old"beater" like this would be worth . Was I wrong not to speak up?Nahhhh!

I just picked up a 1949 94 .32 WS. I ended up giving $400 for it. I was advised that it should go for $325-$350 but decided it was worth it since it was complete and all original. The friend I bought it from also told me that if I ever wanted to sell it he'd buy it back for what I paid for it.

Now if I could figure out how to get good pics of rifles, I'd love to share pics of all of my new 94's.

Clint,

Aren't you the fella that was looking at the '94 with a scabbard? If so, in the condition you described it and with the scabbard, you didn't do badly at all.

Yup, that was me.

The price I ended up paying was MINUS the scabbard. It was a nice scabbard an all but I have no use for it.

I also just recently inherited a Win. 9422 and a '94 Trapper .45 colt. The .32 put me over the top in my current safe, I had to double up. Time for a second safe I guess since I'm thinkin' I need a prewar oct bbl levergun next!
