I saw the new Walther G22 at the SHOT Show. It really is a neat looking little gun, and there are all kinds of options to trick it out to whatever degree you want to. Of course, it's still a 22 rimfire at heart and soul, so while it may look "bad," it's hardly a tactical or home defense piece. But it's gonna be a "fun gun." Go to: www.rimfirenews.com for a look at it.

WLATHER G22 ALERT!!!! Don't buy this gun. I went through 2 of them thinking that the problems were only to the first gun. If you get a dud round this gun will not eject the shell for you!!! Meaning when you go to pull back on the action after a dud fire it will not take the round out!!! You then need a tool like a small flat head screwdriver to pry your dud round out of your gun!!! “NO GOOD!!!” The gun needs to have a successful fire before the arm that grabs the rim (the ejector arm) will work (in turn, tossing out the bad brass)!!! Very dangerous if you’re in a fire fight!!! .22 caliper although it may be, this is supposed to be an assault rifle. A fast action, precise gun for taking on heavy fire built with top-notch mechanics so to eliminate problems while using the weapon!!! RIGHT!!!!???? Well… it’s not!!! DON'T BUY THIS GUN IF YOU EXPECT TO HAVE TO USE IT. IT COULD KILL YOU!!!!!!!

Having purchased one of these "cool looking" Bullpup .22 rifles, I ended up going through several repeats of "take the gun back, get another one" before simply getting my money refunded. I picked one up early enough to get to the range in time to discover any shortcommings. I found a big one, that apparently is a design flaw!
The rifles simply WILL NOT chamber a round correctly, or eject a spent casing correctly. I tried .22LR from russian and American manufacturers, "Stinger" and "Magnum". Nothing would cause the bolt to function as expected. (i.e.: function as a semi-auto, not a single shot "fumble" gun)
I had all three [all the store had] out to the range looking for one to keep. Even after properly cleaning the rifle as per Walther's disassembly / cleaning instructions prior to firing, each time using various types / loads, all three failed consitantly to work.
I would NOT recommend this rifle to anyone after this experience.
