I especially like that one with that M6 tactical light/laser on it. I'd like to have one in .45-70. I wonder if they'd let me carry one when I get my CHL???;) LOL. It'd be one INTIMIDATING defense piece wouldn't it???

Anyone up on the "rules"...know there is a minimal fee licnece for some antiques (Like the "auto and Burgler" SXS 20ga), but what's the paper work for a modern made "sawed off"?

OK...found the answer...class 3 stuff.

i know it's the law, but if marlin made them and sold them as pistols, they would be prefectly legal, but as it is it they require class III licenses. (i think). well, you know where i'm goin' with this so i won't rant about silly laws because all of you know just as well as i.

Dont mean to stray from the positive feedback here, but my question is- why would someone cut down a perfectly good levergun like that?
Maybe im just missing something here but besides being used in a drive by shooting, what would be the purpose of a chopped down Marlin?

Conversation piece, paperweight, wallhanger, wrist wrencher, eardrum remover, flame thrower. Did I miss any?

Well, I guess they are kinda cool looking, but I dont think I'll be takin a saw to mine anytime soon. Unless $#!t really hits the fan and I have to wear it under a trench coat or something.

A former co-worker of mine used to work outside of Juneau, and he carried something similar to these in a 45-70 because he got out of work late at night, and bears were known to be roaming about at those hours. The cut-down rifle was easy to carry, though shooting took some getting used to. He had a scar on his forehead to attest to that. That's about the only "practical" use I can see for them. It's also mentioned on the Web site. In my case, I just want one...

flame thrower.
I wonder how big a flame that would throw out there while shooting at night??? I'll bet it would be so cool to see.

I think the idea for these types of rifles are for bush pilots. These are probably a lot cheaper than WWG's takedown Marlins, while not exceeding the takedown packing length.
Space is a premium, at times, in the small cubs and other planes that a lot of folks use to access the backcountry.
I'm not sure how much accuracy you could get from such an extreme cut down rifle though. Looks like it would be tough to sight. It's probably to be used for a close range protection rifle?
