Exaclty how do you pronounce "mosin nagant"? I normally say it as moe-sin nah-gahnt but i've heard it as mois-in neh-gant. Does anyone know how it is truely pronounced? it's a russian gun and fairly cheap, accurate, long range, and reliable bolt-action rifle. if you know something about this with any degree of certianty then please let me know.

Dear Maniac11919 -
I've heard them called that "Blasted %3@$**&^(!^^ - CHEAP Russian rifle that outshoots my pre-64 Winchester.

A friend has an "as new" sniper version that shooths surplus WW2 ammo into 1/2 inch at 100 meters from the bench. Not too shabby for a "surplus" gun.

The pronunciation I believe is correct - after calling mine a Moi-sin, as in poisin, Nagent, as in Ted Nugent, is as you stated Moe-Sin - Nag-Ant. Enjoy it.

sounds like fun. but your post confused me. i cant seem to understand from what you wrote which pronunciation you think is correct. after reading it again i think perhaps that you believe the moe-sin nagg-ahnt type pronunciation is the one you believed to be correct, but just to be sure i wanted to ask you because the previous message was a bit vauge. thanks for the help, though either way.

Sorry Maniac11919 - you are right as rain on the pronunciation.

Hehehe, this is a great question. Just bought one yesterday, the guys at the gun store were like "Moes, Mosss, Mosseeene?? I really was not sure myself, cause you don't really hear alot of people talking about them.

I took mine apart though, and went through it real good, removed the stock, etc. The barrel didn't have a scratch, and there is not a spot of rust anywhere to be found on the rifle. I can't wait to shoot it!!! I soo excited!!
