I have an old tube fed simi auto 22 I bought from my Dad about 15 years or so ago for $40.00, it is marked:

STEVENS
Savage arms corparation
Chicopee Falls, MASS
MODEL 87A

22 SHORT, LONG OR LONG RIFLE
LONG RIFLE ONLY AS AUTOMATC

No ser# anyplace on it that I can find.

What I would like to know is about when this rifle was made, what it cost new, about what it's worth now (NOTE: no blueing left on it, gets very light powdery rusting at times that for many years has been polished away using supper fine steel wool, metal is all pretty shiny, bore is mirror bright inside and it shoots very good, it's been drilled/tapped for scope bases, looks like it had a receiver site at one time as there are 2 screw holes that have filler screws in them, stock has been sanded and refinished at one time.) I think thats about all the info I can give at this time.

Thanks
Michael Grace

This model is worth about $75.00 in near mint cond't.If you drill and tap for a scope it takes the value and drops it in half.I would say you have a $35.00 gun. They made a pile of these and there's no collector value to them at all.
