What is the correct way and the correct tool to accurately measure one's BC gap?

Feeler gauge(s)... you can find them at the auto parts store, where they are commonly used to check spark plug gaps and so on.

I think my set goes from 0.028" down to a few thousands.

The biggest one that will goe in is your measurement.  Check all cylinders.  I think you are 'supposed' to check with the hammer back.  Not really sure.

You should feel a some resistance on the blade of the gauge. However, if you have to really have push it through, you're just compressing the metal of the blade.

Discipline Ray....it's all about discipline:  spare the feeler guage and spoil the wheelgun  :biggrin:
