I was reading about some reloaders that carefully polish out the neck of their sizing dies so that the neck of the cartridge is approxiamtely .001 under bullet size coming out of the die thereby eliminating a step of working on the brass. Any comments on pros or cons on this??

Really only is a good idea if you've turned the necks on all of your cases to the exact same thickness, and check this every load or two.

Probably something more for the serious target shooter, rather than the casual reloader.

You can also get neck sizing dies with different-sized bushings to accomplish the same thing, basically, but in a less permanent manner.
