Just wondering what everyone's views are on redfield optics. It seems they are still a wonderful scope line with a great price. I still use the old low-profile widefield on my whitetail gun...Are the new widefields still very respectable?

I was wondering the same thing. I have an old steel tube 4X on a 760 Rem and it does a great job. I have put other scopes on it and none fit the bill like the old Redfield.

Hi
I like the old Redfields too, especially the 2-7 Widefield, have several and will buy them as I find them. One complaint, not at all unique to Redfield, is that they do not measure up to a Kahles, Swarovski, or Ziess (and the copies) when it comes to low light performance. so I have a mix of Redfield and the Kahles/Swarovskis. Weaver made an 8x56mm Kahles copy back in the 1980s which is a great scope, IF you can find one. I have no idea how Weaver made the quality and price on that scope(I have one).
