Have only had one single shot pistol, a XP-100 Varmint Special in .223. How I wish I hadn't traded it. :(
The TCs and availbe Savage and Weatherby's just don't feel right as the rear grip makes things very muzzle heavy.
As popular as the XP was, and seeing the high prices demanded by used one, why isn't Remington re-issuing the pistol as they did with the new version of the 600??
Any opinions on the bolt action pistols??

The XP-100R versions where based on the M7 action. The repeater versions (R) have a rear grip design as opposed to the center grip on the earlier original models. I have one of each and like them both, the orginal is in .284 Winchester(rechambered 7mm BR) and the R is a .35 Remington. The .35 Remington can be safely loaded to exceed the ballistics of a lever action rifle, due to the sturdy action of the pistol. I consider both of these pistols, or "hand rifles" as some like to call them, to be of use in the field only with a rest of some sort for the forend.
