View Full Version : 1951 Shooter
I just brought home a new to me 1951 model 94 in .30-30. I tried a few loads with Varget, H335, and Winchester 760, with disapointing results. The best group was 2 1/2" at 50 yards. I then tried IMR4064, 33g and a Sierra 170g bullet, all 3 bullets touched at 50 yards. This thing is a blast to shoot, and I look forward to carring it the deer season.

Congrats on the new find. I got a very nice little used, almost new 1950 vintage 94 in 30-30 last year. Due to several things I haven't been able to get out and shoot it yet. But I will.

Hawk you may try 34 gr. H4895 with that same bullet or the speer.
Some 30/30 like the maz. loads . carefully load your case's over a little bit at a time , watching for pressure signs.
You will find a sweet spot.
Sight in 2" high at 100 yards. That big buck goes in the freezer with one "BANG"
Here ya go! skin this one partner and I'll bring down another one.
Good shootin'
