Hey guys,
Have you seen the new 2005 Gun Digest Catalogue? It's beautiful. It's almost as if someone has been listening to all of us grumble! No new fangled 300 WSM/RUM Tank Killer in there. First article...Lever Vs. Bolt(the debate over military rifles at the turn of the last century), Cast Bullets for Bear and Deer(Lever Actions mostly covered..good stuff that I hear echoed at this site), then there's "just enough gun" in which some good coverage is given to, of all things, the 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser in many of it's configurations...guy uses to hunt in Africa, also Single Actions and many of the guns many of us seem to like. Only one article on the 17 HMR. My point is, maybe we are turning the corner on this ultra high velocity bolt gun, semi-auto pistol of the week thing. Maybe someone in publishing is surfing the Beartooth site! I am going to reward those fellas with a purchase as soon as I can save up my pennies..then maybe start saving for another Ruger GP-100.
