I have a Traditions lighting bolt in .50cal That I am thinking of putting a scope on I found a Bushnell sportview in one of my boxes of misc. I'm thinking of mounting it on my muzzleloader if it will handle the recoil. What do you guys think? Its a good scope so I hate to ruin it by just trying my luck. The only scopes I've really messed with are for my .22's

I had a Sportview on a .223...after 5 yrs I had put 250 rds with no complants.
Then I threw it in hard case and it made the trip from denver to Illinois in the back of the truck...when I got there something inside was loose. they will fix it for $10 (plus my shipping cost) But didn't feel I could trust it.
For an ecenomical scope, I belive many here have had luck with the Bushnell Banners on .444 Mar and 45-70.
But for the $50 that is would take to replace the sportview I'd put it one and see if I could destroy it.
good luck
Nate
