I have a line on a "scant" type stock for a 1903 Springfield. Condition is pretty good, no handguards or metal other than a rusty buttplate. Anyone know what these stocks would be worth? I'm wanting it as a start for a restored military '03.

I think that mostly depends on how badly ya want it. Compare it to Gun Parts Corp, or something similar.

A 1903 stock without handguards or metal might fetch $50 or less around here. These stocks are available from Sarco, Inc. at www.sarcoinc.com and will give you a benchmark for pricing. Hope this helps. All the best...

You might try Boyds, they list both the C type and the standard straight grip in Walnut.
