I have a Savage 99M in .308. Can anyone tell me the details of the rifle and approximate value. It is in very good condition.

Mountaineer,
Not familiar with the 99M, but I am guessing that if it is a 308 offering then it will have to be a post war model, that in my humble opinion will be worth more as a hunter / shooter than a collector. They still bring pretty good prices on the used market, and I expect if you wanted to sell it, $750 or so would not be too much to ask. The blue book will not nearly be as generous, but as these rifles are liked by folks that have used them, espiecally in other parts of the country, it will bring exactly what the market will bear.
A fellow has put together a web site, that will date your rifle, provided that its serial number does not begin with a letter. I had my 99R dated in this fashion but my 1981 99A started with a "D" so it would not. The address is savage99.com.
Good luck, gret guns, a joy to pack, mine don't shoot as straight as I would like, but we can;t have everything.
Good luck to you.
