Gentlemen; I have a factory #1 in 38-55. 500 were made in the late '70s for the Cast Bullet Shooters Assoc. Wonderful fun gun but i have a problem. Ruger confirms that they made the bores .379( mine slugs .3798 as best as I can measure) at the request of the buyers. <!--emo&???--><img src="http://beartoothbullets.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo--> Any suggestions for cast .400 bullets? My .377 Lyman and Saeco moulds sure won't work and .375 jacketed start tumbling in the bore!

Wow, Nice piece of equipment! *
Interesting about the groove diameter! *
The molds our bullets fall out of, will only cast up to .3795", and won't do you much good with a groove diameter as large as you have.
I would suggest looking into an NEI bullet mold for your gun, and I know that Walt makes several designs up to and including .382" that would be imminently suitable for your Ruger No.1 in .38-55. *

This would be my first choice in locating a mold of dimensions you are seeking.
I'm interested in what you choose to do, and please let us know what you find!
God Bless,

Hillbilly hunter, most mold manufacturers will for a small fee enlarge your mold for you. Take care and have fun. Swany
