I really like the .250 and lever actions. I shoot a .250 now in a Savage bolt action. I know the Savage 99 was chambered for this round but they are hard to find in my area.

How hard to take the BLR and turn it into a .250.

Thanks, Brett

Not hard at all.  All you need to do is take it down and trade it for an original BLR '81 in .257 Roberts.
Shoot factory fodder and you'll be right with a .250 Savage.  Or load your own for a good bit more pep.

The BLR was also produced in .22-250, 7mm-08, .308, .358, .375 Win, .284 Win, .243, and 30-06 and .270, 7mag, .300 mag, etc.

I know what you mean, I have a M99 in .250 Sav, it's a nice little rifle.  If you aren't afraid of mild wildcats, get a BLR in .308 and get it rebarreled to .25/308 (AKA .25 Souper).  As I understand it, this cartridge mimics the .250 AI, and would be a mild wildcat.

Thanks for the posts. I've shot a .257 Roberts that belongs to a friend. I've never seen another one in the BLR but am keeping my eyes open.

I will look into the facts and figures on the wildcat.
