Have any of you guys loaded for this one? I guess it's kind of anemic by new standards, but can be surprising. So far I've tried some loading using Bertram brass(excellent) and IMR3031 and .376 cast lead bullets. 32 grs. gives great accuracy; while 36 grs. is quite snappy, with 4 in. group at 50 yds. I am concerned with overpressure. Would any other smokeless work with this necked case? Any help ?

For the 38-56 WCF, Waters lists the 250gr Lyman 375248 going 1450fps in front of 30.5grs of IMR 3031.

He says the Barnes 255 gr flatnose is accurate with H-4895 (40.0 grs) giving 1828 fps.

His HV load is a 220 gr Hornady flatnose over H-335 (38.0 grs) for 1950 fps.

Sounds like a fun round to play with.
