I need a question answered before I place a order for some reloading equipment that I need. Instead of buying shellholders for my RCBS press one at a time, I have been thinking about buying the 11 pc set that Lee offers. I just want to make sure that the Lee shellholders will fit in my RCBS press with no problems ? The catalogs say that they will fit in "MOST" presses. I use a Lee Auto-Prime tool and plan on ordering the 11 pc set of shell holders for it at the same time.

Works great in my press!!! The auto-prime uses it's own set, of course.

The only issue I've seen with the Lee shellholders, is that the hole through the middle is slightly too small to use in a Hornady case trimmer. A quarter-inch carbide bit fixed that.

Yup - my Hornady and Co-Ax presses don't know what brand shellholder they're gonna have next - RCBS, Redding, Lee, Hornady, Pacific, etc.

I have tried it once because Midway sent me a lee shellholder once by mistake instead of the RCBS shell holder. While the Lee holder worked, the cases fit just a little looser than in the RCBS shellholder. This really was evident when using the RCBS hand primming tool. Just enough wobble to make a difference. Ordered a replacement RCBS shell holder, and things wre tight again. --Mykal

Whoa! I'm assuming different than you guys--that he's about to buy the flat shellholders for the AutoPrime and whatever else they fit in. They come in one square flat box...and definitely won't fit anything RCBS makes. He'll just have a load of unusable shellholders for the AutoPrime....

So make sure that they're interchangeable shellholders, that should have a lip extending down where they engage into the press.

I understand that Lee makes two sets of shellholders!!!! As I stated in the above post "I use a Lee Auto Prime tool". I'm planning on buying the flat bottom shellholders that will only fit the AUTO PRIME tool AND the 11 pc set of shellholders that fit in the PRESS. I just wanted to make sure the Lee shellholders (FOR THE PRESS) would fit in my RCBS press.

Got it. You're good to go then, since all the die shellholders are interchangeable....
And that's a good idea to have them all, too....

I have the Lee 11 piece shellholder set you are ordering and they work fine in my RCBS Rockchucker and Redding #25 turret press. In fact the Lee is my shellholder of choice for 45 Colt in the Redding turret because it is just a tad looser in the fit and I don't crush cases when I use it in the turret.

Go ahead and order them. The press shell holders from RCBS and from Lee are basically interchanegable. The numbers they use are different, but the 11 shellholder box from Lee will do everything and it has the index in the box with it showing shell holders and their calibers. Check eBay for best price as well. I got mine in a gun shop junk box. It was complete for $5.00 so I jumped on it.
