Midway is great, Cabela's can also be useful. I have heard a few guys on the board talk about Graf & Sons (or something like that)

Midsouth and Natchez have always been the cheapest when compared to Midway and Cabela's. Graf & Sons includes free shipping on their items.

Lock, Stock & Barrel failed to make the list.

Midway is no longer high on my list since they initiated the minimum order requirement and the actual shipping charge policy. I have found that other firms can deliver the same products for less cost. It pays to shop around before placing the order.

Glad you mentioned Cabela's. As you know, they offer a fine quality reloading catalog and some reasonable deals. I found them to be one of the lowest price sources for Redding T-7.

Cabela's was the lowest price on the Forster Co-ax press I bought last week. They even beat Midway's sale price. Besides I had to use my points from the Cabela's Visa.

You're gonna like that press, Bigfoot - mine has worked flawlessly ever since receiving it around 5 years back. Only concern was the jaw type shellholder for the 7.62x54R Russian case - it has a .570" rim and requires the maximum opening on the jaws. All others work extremely well.

I used to buy 99% of my stuff from Midway. Good prices and good service. In the last year or so I have been buying more and more from Cabela's. Cabela's charge there shipping by the price of the item and I have found that Cabela's is usually quite a bit cheaper with the price of the item plus shipping. I don't mind paying a little more to stay with a supplier but sometimes I am talking about 25%-33% price difference. As mentioned earlier they also do not have a minimum order requirment either. I think Cabela's is trying to aggressively expand into this market and is doing a good job of it. As I have said they are getting more my business.

i would agree that it seems that Cabela's has changed marketing stratagies and is making a play for the shooting market.

A lot of people who buy from Cabelas get stuck paying sales tax since they have expanded into so many states. To me that was always one of the trade offs of mail order. Sales tax vs. shipping. I'm in a bad spot because both Cabelas and Lock, Stock, and Barrel are in my home state. Valentine, NE (Lock Stock) is about five hours from here so I'm not there often, but it seems I leave about $3-500 in powder and primer money there everytime I visit.

Armalube: thanks for the index of resources! I usually use Midway myself, dispte that fact that the minimum order thing irritates me considerably. Nice to see them all in one place. --Mykal
