About a week ago I posted a question about if someone had made a levergun exactly between the 44 Rem mag and the 444 marlin.

My obviouse novice brain thought that this was an easy conversion as they call the 444 a "straight wall". Well apparently it is not exactly straight as it turns out.

Anyhow. This got me to wondering if anyone has tried to chamber a lever gun in the "new" 500 S&W round.

It seems plausible that this would make one heck of a whitetail brush gun.

There are a few posts about this in the past. To date, I think Wild West Guns in Anchorage, AK is making the only 500 S&W levergun on the market. Even though it looks like a Marlin, to the best of my knowledge, it is a proprietary action made in-house at Wild West.

Eagle,

The pressure generated by the 500 S&W is above the operating ceiling on the Marlin 336 action..... spontaneous disassembly would result.
