Still waiting for the end of the month to find out about the draw here.

One good thing about these draws in AK, except for bison and musk ox, there are other areas to hunt for all species that don't require being drawn. Some of the drawing areas are the best places in the state to hunt though (maybe because they are drawing areas?).

However, other than subsistence, musk ox and bison can only be hunted by drawing one of those permits.

I didn't draw any of the tags I REALY wanted, but did get a Kenai boo tag. Either sex, closes 12-31! :)

I only picked up one of my tags that I applied for . It is a moose cow tag for the Homer area . Yummy :D

No permit, again. My brother got a Bison many years ago. Guess he used up all the family luck....

Hey RR, did you get that cow yet? I got mine on Wednesday morning at about 10 am. Had her hanging in the meat shop at 5:30 pm, Only mistake was that I was alone. Still have a sore back! :D

Thanks. I suppose I'll get out and look for a bear after Sept 1st. I'll also probably head down to Whittier for some late fall silver fishing. A buddy and I went to Chitina this summer and caught 60 reds in two and half hours but I canned all of it including the kings and silvers we took at the Deshka. I now regret canning it all as a few fillets in the freezer is always good thing.

Boy howdy a cow already !!! That is great . Yes lots of good eating to come .
I have not popped one yet . On the brighter side I have a fried in Birchwood that has invited me to do a fly in Bull moose and caribou hunt leaving this weds morning . It will be in the upper Kuskokwim river area unit 19C . This will be about a 8 day or so hunt . He ownes his own plane so we can leave or move camp at his leasure .
I am glad I did not pop a cow !!!!!!
Now I am looking for papa .

Well I have to admit, the moose/caribou fly out hunt sounds much more interesting! I've never hunted that area (Kuskokwim River) but have flown over it several times and have seen many huge bulls and several very large bears. I've hunted the Mulchatna heard over around Lime Village and Whitefish lake and always had a successful hunt. Good luck and be safe!!!

No, we only hunted one day for boo. This was primary for moose. We have until 03-31-06 to fill the boo tags!!! :)
