Hi guys,

I recently bought a hornady die set in .44 mag, and I see that it comes with an extra bullet seater. The extra seater is flat, instead of hollow like the other. Is this for flat-nosed bullets? I noticed that the same thing came in a 9mm die set I got a while back. Should I use this for flat-nosed lead bullets?

thanks,

Typically you get one seater for round nose bullets and one for flat nose. Just use the appropriate one depending on which type of bullet youare using.

Sometimes it's a little difficult to determine which seater plug to use as in the case of round nosed flat point or round nosed hollow point bullets. In such cases, I fit the bullets into the seater plugs and wiggle them to see which plug holds them the tightest and use that one. The choice is much easier when the bullet is a flat nosed wadcutter.
