VERY neat idea! I like the diagrams shown on how to utilize the entire peice of plywood so that there is little to no watse! Might have to sit down one of these days and seriously think about building one of those!!

Welcome to the forum. Nice set of plans. I downloaded it to my reloading file. Hope you enjoy this forum, I've found it a pleasent place to discuss guns and shooting with folks from all over the country. Good moderators that seem to care about shooting and hunting and keep us on track.

Lots of plain old folks whom enjoy shooting and hunting. Well there are some young folks too. There is an expeciall good tech section you might want to check out.

With this design of bench, check the bolt holes on your equipment before finalizing your bench. The edgewise 2x that supports the edge of the benchtop ends up being in the way of the rear bolt holes on many presses. If that happens, you will either have to attach the tool woth lag bolts, or attach the tool to a plate, which then attaches to the benchtop. Other than that, it is a good design . Mine is about 20 years old, and has served well in two different locations.

I have designed my reloading bench and my work bench with a 3/4 plywood top that overhangs the front by 1 1/2 inches. none of my tools are permanently mounted. Each one is attached to a 7" x 11" x 3/4" plywood mounting plate. Four 1/4 carriage bolts in each corner attach the plate to the bench thru the only holes drilled into the top. Washers and wing nuts underneath the top make it easy to interchange tools. Reloading presses, shotshell loaders, lubrsizer, even my bench grinder and 4" vise share this common mounting. This gives me a lot of flexibility in use, even allowing me to have a completely clear table top if desired. The 1 1/2" overhang also makes it possible to clamp something to the table.

My son has also adopted this mounting system, making it possible for us to easily interchange tools. My workbench is 8'x2'x 36", using 2"x4" frame and legs. I'll make the reloading bench 3" to 4" lower as I usually sit when loading ammo. Both benches have a full length shelf underneath, 12" above the floor.

Very good advise... I had problems mounting my Lee presses to the bench. Actually, I had problems with the steel plates that I mount my presses on.
