Last squirrel season i bought a Mossberg 702 plinkster, it was on sale and i didnt have alot of cash.

Come this season i put a cheap scope on it, but it shoots suprisingly well between 25 and 50 yards. I can put together consistant 1" groups at 50 and .5" groups at 25

The thing i cant stand about this gun is that the triger is so sticky its unreal....it never pulls the same twice

Thing is, im have no idea how to smooth it out myself, and i cant find anything on the internet for the 702

I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to smooth it out, or if there are kits on the net or other places i could get to smooth it out.

Also, if there are stocks out there, i wouldnt mind trying a new stock out

Thanks in advance!

Got to tell you there is not much aftermarket stuff for your 702. Having any trigger work done is going to cost between 50 and a hundred dollars by almost any gunsmith and putting an aftermarket stock on any rifle runs between one and two hundred bucks at the least by the time it's finished.

Sorry.

One thing you might consider is using it as a trade toward a rifle with a better trigger. My personal favorite is the CZ 452's at under $300 they are tack drivers and have nice triggers. CZ just introduced a new 453 with a single set trigger.

Hey, thnks, i had a feeling there wasnt going to be much.

The guy across the street wants to sell me his 10/22, he wants 200 with a scope and a modified stock of some sort...havent seen it yet, but i think 200 is a bit high for a used .22

ill look into trading it in, thanks again

you might want to take a look at what he has done to his 10-22. Most stock 10-22's from say Wally world start at around $160.00. If it has a good aftermarket scope and stock he could easily have double or triple that amount in it.

I would also ask what if anything he has done to the trigger. Basic 10-22's come with a trigger not much better than the rifle you now have, but 10-22's have all kinds of aftermarket stuff to make the triggers better.

That $200 might be a bargian if you know what to look for. Your welcome to PM me if you have any questions.
