I have a few guns that I am going to sell and was wondering if anyone knew what a fair price would be for a Marlin 336A long barrel.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I have seen the 24" barreled A's go from about $225 to $400 depending on caliber, condition and especially what part of the country you are from.

I have paid an average of $275 for the ones I have. The .35 Remington and .32 Winchester Special seem to add an extra $50 to $75 over the .30-30.

Again where they are scarce, the price goes up of course.

I'm always interested in the early A's. When you figure out your price let me know what you have and want for it. :D

That's about par for the course around here, too. Last one I bought was a very, very nice 1952-vintage .35 Remington, it was $325. In the not-to-distant past I've paid $200 and $225 for early .30-30 336A's.

I, too, am always in the market for the nice older ones, so let me know if/when you decide to sell it.

I paid $200 for mine. It has some bluing wear, but is otherwise perfect. (30-30 caliber, BTW) Condition has the largest bearing on price.

Another big factor in my area is the rifling - the older Ballard type demands a premium, if in good condition, while the MicroGroove barrels bring a little less. Next is caliber, with 35 Remington being in demand.
Anywhere from $200 to $325 is reasonable, considering the factors above.

I paid $325 for my '51 336A in 35REM and it is in near flawless condition.

Thank you for the help! This is a 30 30 and is in very good condition. I was thinking that $150.00 plus shipping would be fair. If anyone is interested you can email me at gis1@nelson-tel.net
