I picked up a set of RCBS 7mm STW dies fairly cheap. I got them for a future rifle. The dies are part #56231 and say group G full length set. I haven't been able to locate any info on this model die. The ones I have found on various web sites are model #26601 and are Group A dies. Do I just have an old set where they changed the model numbers? What is Group G? The RCBS website doesn't even list a group G. Any help is appreciated.

My RCBS custom die catalog has gone missing, but I suspect your dies are early, made before the 7mm STW was a factory offering, and still a wildcat. Groups from about F to L are wildcat or obsolete chamberings.

With RCBS all the "Die Group" indicates is pricing. All die sets withn the same "Die Group" sell for the same price! The price does not necessarily increase as the letter gets higher in the alphabet. And, finally, some dies are introduced as group G or H for example, and are later reduced to group A, B, C, od D as the caliber becomes more popular. .454 Casull is one recent example of this.
