I stumbled upon a sporting goods store here in Sacramento that I hadn't noticed before and was surprised to see that they had 9 boxes of Remington's 444 Marlin cartridges on clearance. (I can't imagine how they thought they were going to sell 9 boxes of 444 in Sacramento?!) They were marked down to $14.95 each. Not a bad deal considering that the other local shops usually only have one box, and they want $25. I picked up three, and told them I'd be back for the other six once they get them down to $10. I let him know that I was probably one of two people in the region who even owned that caliber. The 240 grain bullet isn't my favorite, but at a reasonable price I'm willing to shoot factory stuff.

It's decent stuff, especially at the price you got it. I've used it on deer with good results. I had gotten some like yours in a great deal too. My favorite though is the Hornady stuff, which could also be used on elk.

I've purchased some Hornady 265 grain bullets for reloading. I look forward to giving them a try.
