Dear group,

I just came across the Uberti 1873 Musket lever action rifle. http://www.ubertireplicas.it/

It looks very nice and even has the means to sport a bayonet.

It says that it is available in either .45 LC or 44/40, but in the part list is says that there are parts available to have it fire .357 Magnum ... correct?

How would a .357 Magnum fair in hunting? I'd imagine it could only handle small to medium game, correct? ... or could it also handle large game?

Has anyone had any experience with this rifle and how does it perform? How's its accuracy, stopping power, etc.? How much did it run you?

Thank you very much for your help!

God bless,
Joshua R. Smith

I dont have any experience with that rifle, but I do with the 357 mag in the Marlin 1894. The 357 is fine for hunting. Blast a deer at 100 yards or less and you will be grilling steaks.

Point well taken, sir!

So does anyone have any experience with this rifle? It seems like a very nice replica and, chambered in .357, would be a very pleasant hunting rifle.

Any help is appreciated! :)
