i want to go wild boar hunting with my 1973 marlin 336 30-30win and was wondering what bullet would give me the best penetration on a tuff boar, and still give good enough expansion to deliver the bullets engergy effectively. i was thinking about a winchester 170gr sliver tip, i think the federal nosler load would also work good, but i know the silver tips shoot good in my gun. thanks

Was a fan of the 170gr. Silvertip in years past...haven't tested them recently, but would consider them as a good choice.

My brother uses 170 grain bullets with good effect on pigs in TX. Bullets expand well and pass all the way through. The pigs haven't complained about pain or suffering. They just lay down.
