i would like to use the new hornady lever evolution ammo for deer and olny deer, because of construction i dont think it would be good for tuffer game. so my question is if zero hernady 160gr lever evolution at 100 3 inches above point of aim, will i be hitting dead center with normaly winchester silver tips or would i be realy low.

Only way to tell is to shoot them at the range.

I would venture to say that you will be off to the left or right also. Mostr loads don't just vary from an elevation standpoint. If you are wanting to shoot two different ammo's in the same gun, you will have to sight in each time.

ok so i should stick with one ammo, then i will have to use the stuff that has been killing deer for 100 years lead flat tips or round nose. i would like to use silvertips for hogs and bear, will the 170gr work good for deer or would it more likely pass through with out doing much damage. also how would just a normal 170gr power point bullet do for bear and hogs? i think the power point would work best for deer, but i also want to be able to penetrate a boars shoulder with out problem.

You will want a bullet that will pass through and have two holes in that animal. Any of the round nose bullets will do the job on anything.

What caliber are you shooting?

Try those new Hornady Leverevolutions. I think its Hornady anyway. Sopposed to be very accurate out to 300 yards. Would be a good all around round. That sounded funny.
