So did anyone participate in the run on Winchester rifles? What did you get? I got a 2006 catalog in the mail and the take down models (and the 16" carbines) look very interesting. With the take down models, can you disassemble the bold like a Marlin?

Are there still Winchesters out there for sale near retail (or better) prices? I called CDNN (with the splash Winchester Plant Closes headline) and they are out.

Local Walmart had one on the rack tonight. Think it was a Model 94 Ranger 30-30 for $279. I shouldered it about a month ago, but could not get the sights like I could the Marlin 336 they have for $299.

If it's still there, buy it! I found one at the local Wally world last week and sold 2 days later for $425. Net $125 to me after taxes. I don't think they would be a good long term investment, but they're selling for $4-500 right now on gunbroker

At the gun shop I work for, we had about a dozen Winchesters in stock last week. Yesterday, I think there were two, and I bet they're listed on gunbroker.

Right after the announcement, I found an absolutely mint 1980's vintage (pre-safety) Ranger for $200 in a local pawnshop. No plans to sell it.
