I wonder if any kind soul can help me or point me in the right direction in order to identify a peep sight I have.
It is a ladder or flip up type rear sight having 2 knobs right and left for windage. The vertical 'ladder' is marked in 100 yard increments from 0 to 2000(with 3 notches above that, presumably 2300 yards). The elevation mechanism is quite unique in my experience; the peep hole bar is raised and lowered using a small thumb wheel mounted horizontally at the top of the ladder. The revolving thumbwheel allows for infinite precise adjustment. There are no markings other than the yardage ones as well as patent dates stamped on the mounting wedge; "Pat Nov. 11, 1919, Apr. 27, 1920".
It appears very high quality and the rather dull blued finish on milled surfaces makes me think military.
I found this sight in a box of old Lyman Posts and blade front sights, several of which were intended for a Wwinchester Model 52.
Any help would be most appreciated!
