Has anyone else wondered how many of us would need to write to the marlin factory in order to convince them that they need to do another run on their 218 bee.
I for one would buy a new one in a heartbeat, I'd buy a secondhand one but there arn't any of them either.

I don't think you are alone. I have been waiting to see if they come out with it again. I will also one in a heartbeat!!

Go to Guns America web site and click on "search" at the top of the page. In the middle of the page, there is a red bar called "Quick Fetch". Put in either of the two following numbers, 976563485 or 976648561. Both people have a Marlin 218 Bee for sale.

I hope this helps, Taylor

Don't get too excited, but I seem to recall that a Marlin employee on another forum said that the idea of offering the 218 Bee and/or the 25-20 was being kicked around at the company, but he also thought it might be a year or two off. It sounded like they might be waiting for all the 32-20s to get sold.

Tried to find the exact quote and can't so maybe it was just my imagination although I don't care for either cartridge.

I would like to have a 25-20 and a 218 bee and I would like them to have 24" octagonal barrels and button magazines, and a 24" barrel 30-30 (that's not an XLR).

Instead of a run of this and a run of that they need to set up a "custom shop" in the corner of the factory.

As long as we're putting in requests, I want a 24" 336 in .32Spl with an 11" twist... no laminated stocks, just Black Walnut w/o checkering reminiscent of the M93 straight stock rifle (no barrel bands). Color case-harden the receiver and d&t for tang and receiver sights. I'll pay up to $800.00 out the door.

I also want M93's in 33WCF, 38-55, 38-56 and 40-65. I'll give you (Marlin) another $400.00 for these.

I NEED a 218bee, 219 Zipper, 375 and .356! If Marlin would produce, I'd buy 'em in a second.

I would like to be able to buy a marlin with the options that I want. I think a custom shop would be great, but it will never happen.

I would buy a new 218 Bee made by Marlin. Hope it happens. I love most of the old calibers that seem to have slipped away.

Don't forget to write Davidson's as they order a lot of 500 or 1000 rifle runs. But if Marlin does it I will buy one.

Does Marlin have any .218 Bee barrels in stock? Wouldn't it go right on a 32-20 action?

I want a bolt action 218 Bee like winchester used to make, I think bee's are at their best with a pointy bullet

A Ruger with the rotary magazine would be pretty sweet.

I've been collecting and shooting Marlin levers pretty aggressively for the last six years and have picked up quite a few .
And I must say I've not bought one I didn't like. I have the 218 and have worked up cast squirrel loads for it . Also got a 219 recently but as of yet have not fired it.
My big thing would be for Marlin to come out with a copy of the "old" style 336A , not the version they make now . The old style looks like the XLR except it is blued and walnut. And have this model in 7-30 Waters and possibly 307 , 356 and 375 WIN .
But without a doubt I would be real real happy for one in 7-30 Waters . Heck if they just wanted to make the 336XLR in 7-30 Waters I could live with that as well .

Does any one know more less how many Marlin 94 218 Bee were made. I know that this caliber is hard to find I was lucky and found a new on in a box and got a good price for it. So was just wondering how rare it is and would it be better to be put away for the future. Any info would be great.

Enough not to be "rare" not enough to be common. If you pop over to Marlincollectors.com they should be able to give you production numbers.

I wouldn't mind having a Marlin in .256 Winchester Magnum, but I would settle for a .218 Bee.

Marlin's lack of faith in their own products are legendary. They came out with lever guns in .32-20, .25-20 and .218 Bee, and then pulled them right before Cowboy Action shooting took off.

Marlin also killed off their bolt action 10 gauge right when the mandating of steel shot and the explosion of wild turkey populations made this offering very interesting.

Marlin's biggest sin had to be the killing off of the excellent MR-7 bolt action rifle after just three years of production. Heck, it took the Savage 110 30 years before it could sit at the same table with the Winchester Model 70 and Remington 700.

Maybe now that Marlin is owned by Remington, they won't be so flighty when it comes to pulling the plug on their products.

Or maybe, Remington will remove any product in the Marlin line that competes directly with what Remington produces, unless the profit margin is higher!

I certainly would like to see some firearm manufactor product a bolt action rifle chambered for the .218 Bee. Something along the same line as an old Sako L-46 or even a repo. of the Winchester Model 43. Kimber of Oregon made a run of single shot bolt action in .218 Bee, and also in .25-20 WCF calibers back in the late 1980's. However with the price of both .218 Bee & .25-20 ammo costing some $65 per box of 50 shells, I really don't think it will happen. There are a few rifles chambered for the .221 Fireball which can be handloaded to .218 Bee levels.

I have a 218 Bee and I really love it, but I wouldn't want one in a bolt action. The tapered casing doesn't handle pressure well and the rim poses a magazine problem for bolt guns. Get a 222Rem in a bolt gun or if you want something smaller a 221 Fireball. Look at all the improved 22's like the K-Hornet, Mashburn Bee, 219 Zipper Improved, they improved them because they didn't work well in bolt guns.
