G'day,
Is there a simple take-down proceedure for cleaning? Had it 23yrs (PD 1981) and never been game to try. :D

All BLR's have to be cleaned from the muzzle. Getting the timing right on the cam/bolt is nearly impossible even for an experienced gunny.

Get yourself a bore snake and be done with it. No need to push that crud back in the action. Pull it out the muzzle end.

As much as I like the boresnakes, they can't clean like a good cleaning and will eventually have to do it. I'd recommend a muzzle guide when you do.
Someone had once mentioned that the perfect bore guide was like a .223 drilled out or something, and for the life of me I can't figure out what it was or how to make it fit. I've got a .308 and would love to have some bore protection. Have never seen a bore guide in a store.
