Happened to me again last night - told the wife, "Quite by
accident, honey!" ... but it was worth it!

Was sitting around here reading the instruction manual
for our RCBS progressive and figured that I could
probably knock out just the instillation in an hour or two
- which I did - and then go to bed. Of course, by then I
'just had' to run off a few 'test runs' - did the obligatory
adjustments and made the obligatory mistakes - finally,
got the little 'munitions factory' up and humming along at
the advertised 650/hr. rate of production and by the time
I had set up and made a .44 Mag. dies plate and run that
one, too, it was about 5:30AM.

... mumbling something about "being too old for this kind of
all night stuff anymore" I finally got to bed for an hour's worth
of shuteye.

Alarm went off at 6:30AM - fixed the wife's breakfast and got
her off to school - I'm such a good little house husband -
and now I'm waiting for the range to open at 10!

... and yes, it does out perform the Dillion - the primer strips
and swapable pre-adjusted dies plates make it a whole lot
faster!

I picked up three plates and am going back for about five more
tomorrow!

However, I think today I have a monumental clean up job scheduled
for our 'little bench!'

Glad the RCBS is working out for you.

I'm not sure which Dillon you're comparing it to? The 550 and 650 have had swapable tool heads (die holding blocks) for a long time; the 550 since it replaced the 450 and the 650 since its inception. I've surpassed 1800 rounds an hour on a 1050 with automatic case feeder before, though you do need filled primer tubes ready in advance and the 1050 is not quick to change calibers on like the other two.

The RCBS tool for loading primer strips looks like it has a speed advantage over loading the Dillon primer tubes one-at-a-time. Dillon has a machine for loading the tubes automatically. I don't know how well or easily either the Dillon or the RCBS primer staging tools work? They both claim to be quick and easy, of course.

Glad the RCBS is working out for you.
Along with Nick, would also like to add my best wishes on your new reloader. Noticed in your picture that your reloading bench is positioned near your roll-up garage door. That means everytime the garage door is opened, your reloading tools are exposed to the outdoor elements. Unless you live in a hot, dry climate, would suggest you take precautions to protect your tools from rust. My neighbor had his reloading bench set up in the garage too. Had it away from the door alongside the living room wall which opened up into the garage. Wasn't long before his tools were attacked by rust. Don't mean to offend anyone but believe your reloading tools are as dear to you as mine are to me so that's why I brought this up. That's a fine reloading set up you have. Enjoy!

Upgraded from an old 450.

So far this thing is awesome!

Those all-niters sure can be fun! It's worth the trouble you can get into with the wife too! I don't get the chance to pull very many all-niters but I feel one coming on soon!
