I just recently returned from Mirage Outfitters in Quebec. The accomodations were nice as well as the meals. The hunting was bad because the herd was early and it migrated through the resident only area. I finally did get two young bulls from the road. It's not my favorite way to hunt but the numbers were so few that you had to cover alot of ground to find them. If I had to do it again I would go way farther north and much earlier in the year. That is where the trophy animals are taken. The late hunts are more meat hunts than anything.

I am looking at outfitters right now. Leaning towards Safari Nordik. Also looking to go in mid-August.

Most of the Bigtime outfitters up there have multiple camps and will place you as close to the herds as possible. I spent a few summers up at Diana Lake Lodge as an unofficial helper/boat runner/fishing guide. If you are looking to reduce the price look into the semi or self guided hunts. There is a website that shows the location of the herd via GPS tracker collars. I will post it when I get a chance to get on my home computer.
I hate to plug someone on my first post but look into Diana Lake they have a few camps and despite the fact that they dont have the resources of the larger outfits they have a good record for tagging out thier hunters. I am biased because my dad goes up and runs one of the camps every year. Oh and bring a shotgun cause the ptarmigan are a blast if you have time.

Ok got it fixed this is the link to the maps they put out. They are in french but you get a very specific view of the location of the herds. It also allows you look back to see where they were.
