I would like to hear any and all comments concerning this press from pistol reloaders that have had experience with it.
Thanks, ordway@intergate.com.

I just started reloading last summer, and I reload .45 Colt and .30-.30 now. After doing a lot of research on several gun forums I got the Lee Classic Cast 4-Hole Turret Press. I love it! It's fun and easy to use, it's quite strong and it makes consistently good ammo. I can reload about 200 .45 Colt rounds in a hour, but I usually take my time and do about 150 an hour. That's plenty fast for me. The only minor problem I had when I first got the press was the auto-index adjustment was slightly off. But I went to the Lee website and they had a video which showed how to easily fix it. Otherwise everything's been perfect.
The older Lee 4-Hole Turret Press that comes in a kit isn't as good, although the kit is cheap. Since the Classic Cast Turret press doesn't come in a kit I had to buy all the other stuff that I needed separately. I got a good setup with everything I needed for $400 from Midway. If you do get this press you should get the Lee Safety Prime system, and the Lee Pro Auto-Disk Powder Measure with the riser. Have you done any reloading before?

I started reloading with the Lee Turret Press Kit over 5 years ago. I use it to reload 357 Mag, 30-30, and 45-70. I have the 3 hole unit and have not regretted buying it. It has served me well. The auto index does require some adjustment from time to time. Make sure you follow the instructions for adjustment. Lee also has a question and answer section on their web site as well. Since I purchased my press they now have it in the 4 hole version as well. I really don't have any need for the 4 hole version. With the original Lee Turret presses you have to disengage the auto index feature to load rifle rounds as their is not enough clearance for the dies to rotate with the auto index feature. That is not a problem with me but it could be for others. The kits are nice as they come with most of the tools you will need to get started. The new Lee Classic Turret Press is a nice strong unit but the unit I have does not lack in strength either. It has been plenty strong enough to do the job for me. There are a lot of people on this forum that use Lee products so don't hesitate to ask any more questions you may have. Over the years I have found that this group is a good bunch to help you out.

I agree about the Classic Turret Press, its my first and about to buy another. Its a great buy. Switching out different calibers can get old since my Pro Auto Disk measure gets a little stuck on to the riser. U have to always check the powder measures since the disc seem to be a little on the low side according to their data. However, the discs are very consistent. I can't decide on getting another classic 4 turret or their loadmaster. I have bought 3 extra turrets for convience to swap out between different pistol calibers but for the money I might just buy another press since they are so cheap and so far very reliable. I have been reloading for only about 6 months and enjoy it very much. I am glad that I did not start on a single stage. If you are new to reloading, this is the best choice. Very easy to learn on and not pain staking.
I have been using a 4 hole Lee turret press for several years now and concur with the other posts. It has been great for .45 ACP and .38 special. I hand prime prior to using the press and use all 4 stations: resize (without the decapping pin), powder charge and flair case neck, seat bullet, and factory crimp. The only problem I ever have is if I get in a little hurry and work the handle a little too fast. Then the turret will over index on the next die and I have to manually back it up slightly. But if I do my part and keep up a consistent rhythm, I can load hundreds of rounds without a hitch. I still use another press for rifle rounds as there is the clearance problem with long brass and I really don't need (or can afford) to load hundreds of rounds of rifle ammo.

Bought one last year, really like it. Bought the auto prime system with it. Was a little skeptical about this item, good idea, but seemed a little chintzy, but darned if it don't work. With this installed on the press you never have to touch a primer, well maybe not ever, but rarely. Might drop one out of the box or something. Best primer seater I've used on any press, actually like it better than a hand press. It's a very solid press with a large working area. Can't imagine needing anything more unless a fella wanted a full progressive.( those things scare the heck outa me) With the auto index it's close, but can still use it as a single stage if you want. Tried two other brands of turret presses, this one is better by far. Still keep my rockchucker on the bench, but haven't used it much lately. I could add more about the powder handling and dies but the question was about the press. Play safe.
This is the Lee Classic Turret by the way.

I looked for quite a while and then bought the Lee Classic Turret Press. I reload .357 Magnum and .45 Colt on it and it performs better than I thought it would.
I bought the Safety Prime system and an auto disk powder measure and a micrometer charge bar. It throws very consistent powder charges and is clean and so far I have had no leaks, even with H-110.
Its a good strong, reliable press that works quick. Lee's website has info that really helps and videos that explain it all as well.
The Classic Turret Press and safety prime, auto disk, riser and micrometer charge bar ran me about $135 including shipping from Midwayusa.com. I already had the dies and the carbide die set along with the Lee FCD and another 4 hole turret run $27 a set and $8 for the spare turret.
Hope this helps.

I have the 4-hole Lee Turret press and love it. I've gotten to the point where it would be a wild guess just how much ammo I've cycled through it. I load 25 ACP and 45 ACP. If it can do a good job on that little 25, it can do anything.
I have a LoadMaster setup to do 45 Colt and prefer the turret over the progressive. A friend of mine bought the LoadMaster for me with the understanding that I would load ammo for him. He's gotten to the point were he doesn't shoot anymore so it sits.
