Is this the breed of dog those guys in Florida use to fetch the hogs they kill in the swamps?

I don't think I'd want a pack of those hounds Mike.

It's been posted here a few times. I hope the gators catch all the hogs they can; we're overrun with them, at present.

I watched an African hunting show a couple of months ago and the gist of it was hunting Crocks. Two different clints featured.

Was an hour of the guide and client hiding behind a tree. Clients both sleeping guide watching a pond. Soon crock climbed up on the bank and went to sleep. Guide woke sleeping client whom popped crock. They did this twice. Almost as good as watching paint dry. Everybody stood around and congratuated client whom just made a 50 yard shot on a sleeping crock. Client still yawning with new African hunting clothes, new African hunting rifle and big tired smile about popping sleeping crock. Left me thinking "boy wish I could be such a sportsman".

Croc hunting here is severely regulated. For some darn reason they are on the 'protected spieces' list! Don't know why when every mud puddle has at least one in it.

I used to truck into Florida and delivered to several warehouses where you had to drive by good sized ponds to get into the warehouse. While waiting in line to get in often saw those ponds full of baby crocks by the hundreds. Can't emagine something eating them, but...

Taste just like frog legs, Bob (seriously!). I don't think you'd make much of a Cajun.... LOL.

Texas just started an open season this year. Will be interesting..... I may try to find a place to get one.

I'd have to look up if frogs have a season! Might be some down south of me on the Snake River.

Bob, I think I saw the same gator hunting shows you did....good for getting a few cups of coffee down in the early morning, and maybe slightly better than watching paint dry. :p
