I finally got a chance to see just how the 30-30 Leverevolution ammunition works today and i was impressed.I had a late season tag to fill and i floated one of our local rivers while keeping a watch on the bank and i was able to drop a 3 point blacktail where he stood. The problem was where he stood was right on a cut bank and he fell right into the river and it took me quite a bit of river distance to pull him into the boat.My shot entered the left shoulder and exited the right side leaving a wound channel that looks very much like some of the deer i have shot with my .50 caliber blackpowder rifle which to me is a good deer stopper.I did not recover the bullet so i cant comment on how it held up but judging from how it dropped this buck it worked as advertised and then some.
Congrats on the deer - that sounds like a great way to hunt! Dropped a bull moose along a river bank one time and know what you mean by it being a handful!
Think this is the first report on the Leverevolution bullet.
Will move this to the lever gun forum for more interest by those using leverguns.
