I Have a 336C Marlin in .35 Remington that has been fired no more than twenty times (one box full). It's about a 1970's vintage and is in pristine condition. Can anybody steer me to it's sale value? Time to thin out what I don't use. Thaks, Tom

If you are a deer hunter and not using that rifle, you are really missing out on a treat. Can't find a used one around here so I can't help you with what you should ask for it. I would think 400 min.
Depending on your location I would say $275-$400.
Good luck on your sale!

Saw one the other day they wanted 375 for. It was well used. Same guy wanted 200 for a better condition 336 in 30-30. I want a 336 in 35 rem, but there is now way im paying almost a 100% premium for one.

Don't give up!! I have been looking for a 336 in 35 Rem for "a while". Kept looking and bidding on the auction sites, and checking the gun and pawn shops around. Found one in a pawn shop 10 miles from home and tried to get him down to a more reasonable price. He offered $380 out the door but I could get one off the internet cheaper after I paid shipping and transfer fees. One shop is closed about half the time but I caught him open Thursday. He had a 1983 336 in 35 Rem, it looks like the older style 336, but has the #@*& cross bolt safety. I got it for $280 out the door. Don't give up! ;)

Last summer I was at a firearms auction and my buddy picked up the same thing for $200 and some change. My dad just bought one and Cabelas listed them new at $419...we got it for much less due to Cabela points and bucks. Look on some of the online gun auction sites and see what they're going for...I'd think in the $2-350 ranges somewhere.

I have a Marlin 35 Rem, traded for it about ten years ago, about $125 into it. If I would sell it now, I would ask $300 because it has the older fine grain wood. Who say guns are not a good investment!
Here is the interesting thing I never noticed until I read the post on dating Marlins: my dates, 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1981. Who would imagine that? My finest model is the 30-30, which is one of the 1981 year rifles; the wood is just not seen on any Marlin I have seen before and I have done gun shows and seen hundreds, I will never sell it!
BTW: I own more marlins than any make of fifle, just turned out that way.
