I recently picked up a Hornady Pro-Jector progressive press that came with alot of extras. I figured out what most of the various pieces/parts are for and where they go. These few items in the picture below are still an enigma to me. What exactly are they used for and where do they go. Also, while running a few .45 ACP cases through the five stations as a dry-run practice I noticed the cases do not align perfectly with the depriming/resizing die. However, the same case is perfectly aligned for the other dies. How is this possible and is there some adjustment I can make to have the case run up into the depriming/resizing die more squarely?

Thanks for the education.

Not sure about the brass one, but the other two look like inserts for the bottom of the powder measure to fit over the cartridge mouth when dumping powder. Do they thread into the bottom of the PM, or fit in the powder die somehow?

I think Big Jake got it right. I can't say about the brass not lining up.

Yes, with further poking around I figured out that these parts are for the powder measure. The two silver ones screw into the bottom of the powder measure just below where the handle attaches to the rounded portion of the measure. The brass one is also for the powder measure although this type slips down into a powder tube that is presently attached to the bottom of the powder measure. This tube is threaded on the end which screws into the top of the press' frame.

Regarding the brass not lining up exactly at the first station, hopefully I will stumble across something or another boardmember will have come across this problem before.

One additional question I have is whether the powder tube with the brass insert is used for rifle reloading and the silver screw-in collars for handgun reloading? Or, is it more the size of the opening that dictates whether a particular collar should be used for throwing powder into rifle or handgun cases?

Thanks for the info.

Believe you are on the right track as to what insert/collar to use. Small sized openings for use in small casemouths and large for large. Just a guess but that brass insert may also have blackpowder applications.

My RCBS Uniflow also came with two collars and they appear to be made of a non-ferrous alloy for both smokeless and blackpowder? Later Uniflows have non-metallic transparent collars.

You might email this by the manufacturer and obtain a manual while you're at it.

Sounds like you oughta poke around on the Hornady website and see whether they have a manual for your press there. Otherwise, fone them and see whether they can provide one. Should have instructions on all the setups and adjustments you need to make.
