I bought the Lee Pro auto powder dispnser for my Lee 2006 classic turret press. The instructions aren't clear on how to set it up. I even watched videos on installation. Can someone clue me in on proper set-up, particularly the ball chain hook-up?

The Lee Pro Auto-Disk Powder Measure (#90041) only uses the bead chain with the LoadMaster and Pro 1000 progressive presses. The chain is a "safety" that prevents a double charge to a case when the carrier of the press is in operation.

For use with single or turret press, the Auto-Disk Powder Measurers mount on the Lee Powder Through Expander Dies. If the die set doesn't include one of these dies, such as bottlenecked rifle cartridges, the Auto-Disk will mount on the Lee Rifle Charging Die (#90194). If you are using another brand of die or need clearence for the Lee Safety Prime, which would be located at the previous die station, Lee offers the Auto-Disk Riser (#90194) that will mount between the Auto-Disk and the Expander or Charging Die. Here is a clip from the Lee catalog, follow the dotted lines from the Auto-Disk to the press...

I use both the Auto-Disk and Pro Auto-Disk to deliver most of the 10,000+ charges I load per year and find them spot on. If you need some more information on the setup, I would be happy to help.

OK, understand that. How does one actuate the measure to throw a charge?

Jake, I typed out the long answer yesterday and lost my high speed so I lost all the text. May be the short answer will be just as good.

The Spring Return Lever is actually a cam that rotates to slide the disk that is installed in the measurer. The Lever has a blade that inserts into a slot on the bottom of this disk when you mount the disk on the measurer.

As the ram comes up with a case in the shellholder, the case makes contact with the drop tube assembly and slides the disk over the mouth of the case via the cam action. A spring returns the disk to the stowed position as the ram is lowered as the cartridge backs away.
