In the latest issue of NRA riflemen. Hornady had an ad for to convert an AR-15 style gun to 450 Bushmaster.

This round would seem perfect in a lever gun. I know absolutely nothing about this round. Would it even be possible for say a Marlin to chamber this round or is the pressure too high?

I have a hanker'n for a lever gun that is just a bit more than a 44 Mag but less than a 444 Marlin.

I already have a 35 Rem but this marlinitis thing just has me thinking too much!

For hunting, it won't do near what a 45-70 will do.

I'm not a 45LC guy, but I bet you can find a lever gun that will shoot 45LC and 454 Casull. The 45LC can be a potent hunting round in modern arms.

Maybe someone knows for sure.

It is a rimless round that headspaces on the case mouth. Think overgrown 45 ACP.

I believe it would be difficult to do in a lever.

IIRC it is a rebated rim. Makes it even more difficult.

I never said I wanted it to!

The post above says I would like a bit more umph than a 44 mag but less than a 444 Marlin.

Then..........(?).......... .454Casull/.45LC leaver action rifle.

Forget the .450.That has already been done with the Beowulf,LW, and a couple others.-----Added: the gas assist action in the .450Bush will preclude it from using any of the excellent, and plenty available,.452" hardcast bullets. The Casull has more raw power also. -----pruhdlr
