I was wondering if anyone could tell me where to find some GPS coordinates for a location outside of Kaycee, Wyoming. If anyone would know where I could find this information, please let me know.

Specifically, I'm looking for the region of the E.O. Taylor wildlife refuge or it might be called Ed O. Taylor... I camped near there once and I'd like to find it on a topo map, by GPS or possibly a google map of that area.

Can anyone recommend an idea?

Thanks in advance!

check out Google earth, it should give you coordinates when you move your mouse over the image

Redwing,
If you could be a little more specific on what area of the refuge you are looking for I can pinpoint it for you. I have MapCreate USA Topo gps software on my computer.

It is called " Ed O. Taylor Whma". It is a fairly large area. My guess of the center of the area would be:
N- 43-35'-22"
W- 107-00'-17"

If you can narrow it down more, I will give you closer.

Thanks, that did get me close on the Google Earth Map. What I am looking for is a little known campground which I think is called Hole in the Wall - or somthing to that..

Now, I am able to find lots of 'hole in the wall' related ranches, etc; however, this is a very small, rustic campground on BLM land. the road/trail it is on will take me back to the EO Taylor range. It is this trail that I am trying to follow.

I am having a heck of a time pinpointing it. On Google earth, I think that I'm following the right paths, but I can't be certain because the EO Taylor range is my only point of refference right now..

Thanks for your help!!

Do you have any other features that would help me to locate the area you are looking for? There are several roads and waterways through E O. Taylor. Are you looking at N/E/S/W section of the Whma? There is also a small section of the Whma located just South of the main portion. If you have a BLM quad, that would help to.

Located inside the Whma can I see: Middle Fork Powder River, Bachaus Creek, several unknamed streams, several intermittant streams, Bachus Pasture, Bachus Pasture Road, Blue Creek,

Located outside the Whma can I see: Stubbs Creek, North River Slope, Rowan Spring, Carr Spring, South River Slope, Poker Creek Slope, Poker Creek Parks, Carpenter Creek.

Can you relate your campground to any of these locations?

Jeesy Christmas!!!!!!!!!! The topic was in the General Discussion listing. What was it hurting being there? If you would remove the dang *STICKYS* posted on the page maybe there would be room to post other topics.

I understand there has to be some moderation, but come on. There have been so many threads moved lately I can't even keep up with them! This is supposed to be a user friendly as well as friendly forum.

Like Mike said. There are times when I don't have time to browse around and read about thing I'm interested in after cleaning up behind spammers and sorting out newbie's problems, etc, etc.

Sure,
I would be happy to help! This is the first board I joined when I got on the internet. This site has given me a multitude of good information and assistance on many different subjects. It is also a really good place to meet and discuss topics with some really cool and knowledgable people.

That said, over the last few months it seems like the mod's have been extremely short and quick to judge a thread or a topic and move it or lock it, or delete it. I can understand the advertising.........No quarrel about removing that. It is Marshall's site and he has every right to set those boundaries or any others he chooses. After all, he started the site and should get paid for advertising someone else's work. I also understand that some posters may "troll" just to start trouble and that junks up the thread.

But, when a guy has a legitimate question, such as the one I responded to and it is posted in the "General Discussion" board, why is it necessry to move it to a board that has even less to do with the topic? Why would gps coordinates be better located in "Intermountain West Hunting" than on the "General Discussion" board?

I ain't tryin to flame anyone. I just feel that some of the actions are unnecessary and may even cause even more work for the mod's than they would have to do. Tell me how I can help. I am willing.

Because that's where you would be doing the hunting, wouldn't it? That's the way I see it.

Usually, moved threads have a re-direct letting people know where they went. In fact with the re-direct it will get more visibility than it normally would. How's that hurting the topic?

General tends to get filled up pretty fast and I suspect that it will stay visible a lot longer in the other topic in any case, which may help people.

We can agree to differ on this.

I found this thread from it original posted place.

Once you get close to where/what your looking for go to the BLM web site, where you can for a few dollars buy very good detailed maps. I find them invaluable at times for a variety of reasons.

When you set up your
GPS unit make sure you use the North
American 1924 datum...he default is NG84 and that is incorrect and will result in errrors
