I have been hunting all season with the new Marlin 444 I bought this year but this season has been hard hunting. This afternoon right at dark I finally shot a nice whitetail doe. The BTB 280 gr with 45 gr H4198 folded the deer up like a cheap lawn chair. One shot at 125 yards is all it took. Looking forward to some deer chili.

Like a cheap lawn chair.... yup, that's what it does. I have put the skids to a few deer with mine.

Been using the 290gr. LFN, myself. What load are you using with the 280s? I figured that bullet ate up too much case capacity, and so haven't tried it.

I was using 45 gr of H4198 at 2000 fps. I bought them for use in my 44 mag rev but I discovered they shoot good out of my 444. That wide meplate really puts a whomp on anything it hits.
