Chestnutt lodge is a pay per kill hunting operation. I have an older friend who has been there several times and is pleased with the set up. There are some wild feral hogs in Johnston Co., and in Carteret and Pamlico, thou these last two are small and hard to access, even for a local. THere are some in the mountians as well, but these are more heavily regulated.

Been wanting to try there, but it's quite a hike from this end. If I back up, I'll fall overboard, and they're plum nearly in the mountians. What part of NC are you in?

Is there any good public access hog hunting in NC. A buddy and me are wanting to go somewhere fairly close to KY to hunt hogs, but are on a very tight budget.

I have 600 acres of prime deer and turkey land in east central KY that I would be willing to trade for a hog hunt somewhere in the south east part of the country. As close to KY as possible. If anyone is interested just let me know.

I believe there is some public access areas in the NC counties bordering TN, but haven't hunted there myself. There is a population in Caswell county but that is in the middle of the state bordering VA. I'm only 2 counties over and too lazy to drive. I walk 400 yards out of my back door and have everything but hogs to hunt. Actually, now that I think about, if you're not all that far from VA, it shouldn't be more than a 4 to 6 hr drive to Caswell. Just a thought.

GeorgeKy, if yer the same feller from MO forums, I'd try to trade you a hunt just to sample yer cooking! Unfortunately, the best hog hunting in this state is a long way from the coast.:( As compensation th' Lord gave us some good salt water fishing and a lot of pretty rivers and sounds!
