I helped out a local shop, so I picked up a .17HMR for my 2 youngest. I topped it w/ a 6x24 40mm AO that came off my old Open class .308. Marlin 917V at cost. I am dissapointed in the Weaver rings, so I'll replace them. Bad choice on my part. Bull barrel, target crown. Nice Rifle. As soon as the snow leaves I'll post results. Jim

m141a, I was having a little fun! I was making a "tongue-in-cheek" comment about the fact that the sling might be set for larger shooters (meaning Daddy might be shooting the rifle a bit as well)
as in "Daddy can you PLEASE give my gun back ?!?!?!?!"

You hit it on the head! I bought the boys an ajustable mono pod. The sling is set for my ape arms. ;) Jim

i have to ask, wy the disapointment with the weaver rings? i know they aren't as sexy as other brands but i've yet ever to have one fail on me. they have always been rock solid and dependable. however if you are refering to them being aluminum instead of steel then i understand.

They are the double band type. I really don't care for them. Jim
